DIRECTIONS TO THE EVENT The easiest way is up the south eastern freeway. Turn off at the Hahndorf interchange, and turn left almost straight away to Verdun. Then Turn Right onto the Onkaparinga way. Follow this road through Balhannah and Oakbank. As you come into Woodside there is a second hand shop on your left and after this a road (Tiers Road) which has signs to Lenswood. You follow this until you get into Lenswood and then turn left and quickly then turn right where it says Coldstore Road. Keep following this road until you come to Croft Road. Turn left and follow this to the triangle and drive into the forest reserve. Coming from Gorge Road - go through Cudlee Creek, turn right where it says to Lobethal. Keep going along this road for a while but get ready for a right turn after a red house at the road that says Fox Creek Road. Keep going along this road for a while until you come to a dirt road which will have the AMBC signs up and is Croft Road. Turn right. Keep going a long this until you come to an area called Springkeld Reserve - there should be lots of cars.
Link to Race Lap: click_Here another link that is overlayed on the fox trails: click_here Course Description: Same start as previous club races held at fox creek (near the croft rd triangle car park). Up the climb for about 250m. there will be a gate to your right. Turn there and up the rocky hill climb (blue metal climb). Follow the single track, veer left at the fireroad and then immediately right and into the spectator maze. From the spectator maze left and up the climb and into the singletrack. At the end of this section of singletrack veer left cross the fire road and immediately into the single track on the other side. This will spit you out onto a fire road. follow the fire road around to the right and into the first bit of single track on your right about a 100m along the road. Follow this single track and into blue gums. Follow blue gums down, right at the fire road and in about 30m turn left into more single track. This will take you out and around the rocky outcrops. Ride this whole section. At the fire road turn left as if you are heading to the lookout. There will be some single track on your left - do this little bit and immediately turn right crossing the road and into sheep guts. (If you have gone to the look out you have gone way too far). From sheep guts take the 2nd fire road on your left, the one with the little mound, drop into the single track that takes you round the dam and then follow the fire road almost to the intersection. Turn left before the intersection up and around right to tin can. Out of tin can head out and back along the new imba trail. From here head to misty mushrooms and side effects. Then along the single track and power along in the native run. Skip the Knoll and head back to the start/finish. Then do it all again. Track is either 7.5 or 8.2km depending on whether you believe the gps or the bike computer. |
