Club thing huh? Can possibly help out. Date? Time? Venue? Free pass for Glen?

I 'manned' a stand at the Royal Show in 08. 9 days from 9am to 9pm (well actually I left around 7pm after about two nights). Only thing that kept me sane was having one or two people come by each day and hold the fort for an hour or two so I could get some lunch and... do other very important things that you can't do on/in the stand.

Okay that's question one answered: Escapegoat and not AMBC thing.
Could you have a lash at questions two, three, four and five?
One at a time would be fine if that is all that can be managed![]()

welsh mountain goat wrote:So, what did people think? It was good to see a fair few club members there over the weekend. I am sure Stuart and the team that organised the show and gave the free passes would be interested in feedback, as they really are keen to develop the 'outdoor adventure' element and broaden the appeal of the show. Certainly the bulk of the show was still dominated by caravans!
For us, I think it was overall a good thing, although 5 days standing up and talking to people was pretty tough, But we certainly were able to meet lots of potential new clients, and of course that was our focus, as most club members already are aware to some degree of what we do. I am not sure how beneficial OTE found it overall, though, as they have a different focus they were promoting. There was no doubt at all that the weekend was the best for us, and Wednesday particularly was predominantly represented by 'coffin dodgers' and 'grey nomads' who were only interested in caravans and nice electric folding cycles.....

Believe me; a caravan I can stand up in is not the same as one I can't!
Ditto for beddy-byes in the horizontal stakes.
Also had a chuckle at the bed in the Winnebago that is raised to the ceiling with electric motors when not occupied!
Noticed one camper trailer with a wash-down area for bikes kitted with appropriate infrastructure. There were probably others.
